젊음은 젊을 때 낭비된다..  그래서 더 아름다운지 모른다

그 값을 모르고 남에게 나눠 주기도 하고  그 값을 모르고

태워 버리기도 하고.. 젊을 땐 그게 젊음이라는 걸 모르니

까 젊음이라 부르는지 모른다.. 젊을 때 젊음을 안다면 이

미 젊음이 아닐지 모른다.

점잖다가 젊지 않다라는 뜻이라면  철들었다란 뜻은 철이

지났다는 의미일 것이다. 이미 젊잖다는 소리를 많이 듣고

오래 전에 철들었다는 소리를 듣는 나는 많이 늙었는지 모

른다. 철없고 시끄러운 우리 아이들은 아마도 이제 젊은 나

이에 접어들었는지 모른다..

그들에게 난 젊음이 얼마나 좋은지 설명할 수 없다. 내가 젊

다는 생각을 할 땐 너무 바빴고 난 아직 젊다고 생각할 때는

내 젊음이 멀어진지 오래된 시점이었다. 그러니 내가 젊음을

안다고 말할 수는 없을 것이다.. 다만 그 시절 많이 시끄러웠

고 많은 사람들을 만나려고 했고 밤을 새워 술을 마셨다. 많

이 듣고 싶었지만 많이 말해야 했고 더 가까워지려다 취하기

만 했다. 

그것이 젊음이 아닐까 좋은 것을 가져도 어찌할바 모르는 아

이처럼. 그래도 그런 시절이 있었다는 것과 그래서 지금의 내

가 있다는 것... 연속이든 병렬적이든 혹은 아무 연관이 없어

도 좋다.. 그게 인생이니까...
