Meat Loaf - I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)

이 곡은 여러가지 버젼이 존재하는데 그 이유는 원작이 전주가 

너무 길다는 이유때문이다.. 라디오 방송을 위해 전주를  잘라

버린 버젼이 만들어졌고 비슷한 사유로 여러가지 버젼이  만들

어졌다고 알고 있음.. 뮤직비디오를 만든 버젼은 7분 44 초 .. 

이 길이도 일반 유행가들 길이의 두배정도가 되지만 원래 이 곡

의  Looooong version보다는 절반정도의 길이일 뿐이다.. 실제 

발매된 CD버젼은 7분 52 초 , 싱글의 길이 는 5분 25초, 앨범 버

젼은 무려 12분 1초....

이 원곡을 자르는 것에 대한 일화가 있었는데.. 가수 매니저와 이 

곡의 작곡가 Jim Steinman 과 다툼이 있었다고. Jim Steinman 

의 곡은 유난히 긴 것으로 유명했는데 매니저는 짧게 하기를 원했

다고 하지만 작곡가는 당연히 " 노"

하지만 라디오 방송용으로 만들려면 5 분을 초과하면 안되었다.. 

작곡가가 계속 거부하자  매니저는 만약 곡을 편집하여 줄이지 

않으면 라디오 방송 자체적으로 방송용으로 끊어 내보낼거라고 

말했고 방송국에서 자체편집버젼을 만든 한참 후에야 JIm은 자

신의 편집 본을 보냈다고 한다.. 

어쨋든 1993년 이 곡은 28개국 차트에서 1위를 달성했고 빌보드

차트와 영국차트의 1위도 달성하였고 그해 가장 많이 팔린 싱글

로 등극하였고 다음 해 Meat Loaf는 그래미 락 보컬 포퍼먼스상을 

수상하였다.. 

롱 버젼이다( 장장  12 분 )... 라면 끓여서 다 먹고 설겆이까지 다 끝내고 

커피를 마셔도 될 정도의 시간이다...특히 ' 가수는 노래를 언제 시작하나 ? '

하고 기다리시는 분은 1분 50초를 기다려야 한다..
