Sting - Heavy Cloud No Rain

믿거나 말거나 노래가사의 의미는  곡을 만든 사람에게

들으면 싱겁거나 별 얘기 아닌 경우가 많다..

이 곡에 대해 스팅이 이야기하길 처음에 이 곡의 제목은

" Heavy Guitar No Brain " 이었다고 한다.. 당시 헤비메

탈음악이 메인스트림을 장악할 뻔했던 시절이었다. 모든

젊은 이들은 더 시끄러운 음악을 찾던 시절이었다. 그런

데 마침 영국에 가뭄이 들었고 별 생각없이 제목을 바꾸

었다고.. 

그리고 루이 16세가 점성술사가 있었고 비가 와서 처형이

연기된다는 말을 하지만 처형장엔 먹구름만 가득하고 비

는 오지 않았다는 이야기를 생각해 낸다.  혹시 야사에 그

런 이야기가 있나 한참을 찾았지만 없다.스팅이 만든 내용

인 것같다. 

실제 역사에도 프랑스혁명광장에 먹구름이 끼였었다고 하

는데 역사에 만약은 없지만 만약 비가 왔다면 루이 16세의

처형은 연기되었을까? 만약 비가 왔다고 해도 처형을 하지 

않았을까?  단두대가 녹쓸어서 안되나 ? 영화 속에서는 비

가 와도 처형을 하던데.. 세부적인 것이 궁금하지만 넘어가

자. 프랑스의 콩코드 광장이 바로 그 처형이 이뤄진 곳이고

.. 당시 프랑스 혁명광장이란 이름 보다는 화합이란 뜻의 콩

코드란 이름을 넣어 그 살벌한 역사를 덮어 버린 듯하다. 

어찌되었든 시인들의 머리는 참 독특하다.. 단지 비가 안

오는 것을 가지고도 역사를 뛰어넘고 그리고 그 새로운 

이야기를 만들기도 한다. 반면 일반인 뇌를 가진 나는 루

이 16세에 대한 내용을 검색하고 있다..그래도 다행인 것

은 검색이 불가능한 시대는 아니라는 거다 .

2절은 통채로 보는 것은 2줄씩 끝음을 맞추고 있다.

로마자 XVI은 Sixteenth라고 잃어야 한다..하지만 라임을 위해

알파벳 X  V 그리고 I ( 아이 ) 대신 One이라고 읽는다.. 뒷줄

의 one과 같은 음의 라임을 맞추기 위해서다..
