Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up (1987 )

가수 이름에서도 발음법칙을 하나 배울 수 있다.. 영어에서나 

한국어에서나 자음이 세개가 모이는 순간이 있다..일단 한국

어부터 설명하자면 

" 돐잔치 " 란 말에서 " ㄹ ㅅ ㅈ" 이라는 자음이 모인다. 이

럴 때 중간 " ㅅ" 발음이 탈락을 해서 안 들리게 된다. 그래서 

계속 그렇게 사용하다보니 이젠 " 돐잔치 " 란 말은 고어가 되

어 버리고  아예 발음대로  " 돌잔치 "가 표준어가 되었다.. 

영어에서도 자음이 세개가 연속해서 오게되면 중간 자음은 발

음이 되지 않는 경향이 있다. 그래서 Astley 의 발음은 애스

틀리가 아니라 " 애슬리 "가 된다.

그리고 그 뜻은 그리스어에서 어원을 찾는데 Asteri- 가 별을 

의미한다.. 그리고 livadi 라는 들판이라는 뜻이 합해진 뜻이라

고 본다. 즉 별이 빛나는 들판 정도..

2005 년 경 Rick Rolling이란 말이 이 곡과 관련되어 있는데..초

기 인터넷 장난문화 중 하나인데  어떤 주제와 관련 된 말을 누

르면, 그냥 이 뮤직비디오 링크로 이동하게 만든  장난을 말하

는 것인데 그래서인지 오래된 뮤직비디오인데도  조회수가 꽤 

많은 편이다..
